1. How far away is Massanutten and how long does it take to get there from Camp Horizons?
Massanutten Four-Season Resort is 25 miles away; driving time is approximately 45 minutes.
2. What do we need to bring for our ski trip?
For groups lodging in our Camp Horizons cabins, please bring the following: flashlights, sleeping bags or bedding, pillows, towels, wash cloths and personal toiletry items such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.
Guests staying at Valley Pike Outdoor Education Center have the option of bringing your own sleeping bags or bedding, pillows, towels and washcloths, or, for an additional charge of $10.00 per person, have all linens and bedding provided. Please bring all personal toiletry items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc. Flashlights are recommended.
3. We would like to have a worship service on Sunday morning following breakfast or other meeting while we’re here. Do you have a facility with seating, an AV screen and a podium?
Camp has two large dining halls for large group presentations as well as conference rooms and lounges for large group meetings or small group sessions. We also offer AV equipment rentals.
Valley Pike Outdoor Learning Center has meeting space for large group meetings as well as small group sessions. AV equipment rentals also are available at Valley Pike Outdoor Learning Center.
4. We have never taken our group on a ski weekend before and need assistance with logistics. Can you help?
Ski Shenandoah works closely with Massanutten Group Rentals to prearrange your reservations for slope use tickets and rental equipment. Our convenient ski packages include lodging, food and transportation services as well as slope use tickets and equipment rental. We also can customize your package to meet your group’s specific needs. We take care of the details so group leaders are free to supervise and ENJOY their group’s activities.
5. Our family would like to have a reunion ski weekend, but we’re not sure the grandparents will be comfortable in camp cabins or in the dorm setting at Valley Pike. Are there other lodging options available and other things to do in the area?
Ski Shenandoah can customize your group package to accommodate your particular needs. Deluxe accommodations at the tranquil Mountain Valley Meeting & Retreat Center, adjacent to Camp Horizons, also are available. At the slopes, Massanutten has a comfortable ski lodge with views of the slopes as well as a cafeteria and the Encounters restaurant and lounge. Packsaddle Ridge Golf Club is just a few miles from Camp Horizons, and the Shenandoah Valley and nearby Harrisonburg, VA, have numerous antique shops, vineyards, historical sites, shopping and more. Harrisonburg is home to James Madison University and Eastern Mennonite University, and Bridgewater College and Blue Ridge Community College are just a short drive away. Guests also can relax and enjoy the beautiful trails, fields, pastures and woodlands of our own 300 acres at Camp Horizons.
